What this site does

The site offers five tools: a single barcode generator, a bulk generator, a check-digit validator, a camera scanner and an embed builder. All of them cover the same 14 symbologies, from retail codes like EAN-13 and UPC-A to 2D codes like QR, Data Matrix and PDF417.

Everything is free and unlimited. There is no account, no credit card, no export cap and nothing stamped across your download.

Everything runs in your browser

Barcodes are drawn on your own device with an open-source rendering engine. The value you type is never sent to a server, because the site has no endpoint that receives it — the PNG and SVG files are produced locally and saved straight from the page.

The scanner works the same way: the camera feed is decoded on the device and no frame is uploaded anywhere.

Where the data comes from

• Symbology rules — the accepted length, character set and check-digit maths for each type come from the published GS1 General Specifications and the relevant ISO/IEC standards.
• Rendering — barcode images are produced by bwip-js, an open-source implementation of the widely used Barcode Writer in Pure PostScript.
• Sample values — every example on the site is made up for demonstration and is not linked to a real product.
• We do not license, resell or mirror any commercial product database.

An important limit

This site can create a technically valid barcode for any of the supported types, but it cannot issue a globally unique GTIN. Company prefixes and official GTINs are allocated by GS1. Numbers you invent here are fine for internal use — shelf labels, asset tags, warehouse bins, private catalogues — but should not be used on products sold through retailers.
