Put the AI in round brackets immediately followed by its data, e.g. (01)08712345678906(17)261231(10)LOT42. The brackets themselves are not encoded, they only define the structure.

Which AIs are most common?

(01) GTIN, (10) batch/lot, (11) production date, (17) expiry date, (21) serial number, (30) count, (37) units, (00) SSCC.

Is GS1-128 the same as an SSCC label?

An SSCC pallet label uses GS1-128 with AI (00). The full label also carries human-readable text following the GS1 logistics label guideline.
